EmpowerHER Builds Meaningful Connections at All-Girls Meetup
As part of its monthly activities to connect and inspire female Rebels, EmpowerHER hosted a heartwarming All-Girls Meetup. The event aimed at connecting both new and seasoned Rebellinas, while introducing them to the women empowerment committee.
Established in September 2023, EmpowerHER is a leadership group committed to empowering and promoting the well-being of female Rebels. Or as described by DPL’s CEO and founder Syed Ahmad “the driving force inspiring female leaders with empathy, strength, and a whole lot of heart”.
Through workshops, awareness campaigns, and community-building events, it ensures DPL remains a space where women feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
The committee further aims at facilitating better communication and collaboration between Rebels regardless of gender. For instance, it hosted a company-wide Pinktober Bake Sale and breast cancer awareness sessions to highlight female health and wellbeing.
The meetup opened with a round of icebreaker activities such as having attendees introduce themselves. Many attendees shared their hobbies and passions, allowing them to find common ground and inspiring plans for future group activities.
This was especially important considering how numerous female Rebels work remotely and can’t come to the HQ in Islamabad. It also counters challenges of hybrid work such as reduced social connection due to different work days.
A special focus during the event was on highlighting the purpose and spirit behind EmpowerHER. Members of the committee made sure new joiners knew that this sisterhood exists to lift each other up and fix each other’s crowns.
The event also featured an activity where each participant shared heartfelt compliments and tied flower bracelets on each other’s wrists. This symbolic gesture of support and femininity left everyone smiling (and maybe a little teary-eyed).
The mood throughout was light, joyful, and filled with sincere connection. Reflecting on the atmosphere, EmpowerHER’s Tayyaba said, “The energy in the room was so genuine. We weren’t just colleagues during this event. We were a community of women celebrating each other’s magic.”
The event finally moved to a cake cutting ceremony, sealing the event with a sweet note of celebration. While virtual attendees couldn’t claim their share, they were promised individual slices the next time they visit HQ.
