Comrades Wins League of Rebels Cricket Tournament 2025
In a thrilling finale, DPL’s team Comrades emerged as the champions of the 2025 League of Rebels Cricket Tournament after defeating Outlaws. The winning team’s players scored 54-4 in five overs, beating its contenders by 24 runs.
“Every player on this team gave it their all, and I couldn’t be prouder,” said Comrades’ Team Captain. “Being crowned champions is the perfect ending to a journey that brought us closer as teammates and friends.”
Planned and executed by DPL’s Cricket Circle and Culture Committee, the League of Rebels Cricket Tournament 2025 has sparked what promises to become a vibrant annual tradition for cricket lovers across the organization.
“This tournament was about more than just winning. It was about passion, unity, and playing for each other,” commented Asif on the behalf of the Culture Committee.
Born from a shared passion for the sport and a desire to strengthen team spirit beyond the workplace, the event blends friendly rivalry, athletic excellence, and community energy. These are just a few of several values that DPL aspires to instill in its Rebels.
DPL’s CEO and Founder (as well as Comrades team member) further added, “More than just a sporting event, the cricket tournament encourages wellness, fosters cross-team engagement, and celebrates the diversity of talent within DPL, both on and off the field.”
The tournament started off in mid-June, featuring two matches per day. The first round had Outlaws against Insurgents, and Comrades against Anarchists. Both Insurgents and Comrades claimed victory in Day 1.
Day 2 had Outlaws face Comrades, whereas Insurgents played against Anarchists. In this round, Outlaws bounced back strong whereas Insurgents continued their winning streak.
Then, Day 3 determined who played in the final as Outlaws defeated Anarchists while Comrades sent Insurgents packing.
As the dust settles on an unforgettable 2025 season, one thing is clear: the League of Rebels Cricket Tournament has not only crowned new champions. It has also ignited a legacy that is here to stay, and we cannot wait to see who claims the trophy next year.
